lost ability to download by bittorrent

After upgrading to Ubuntu 8.04 my downloading movies by Bittornado or any other bittorrent does not work. Earlier procedure meant clicking "download this torrent" at the pirate bay --filecollector opens ---automatic question "open by Bitornado? " yes--and the Bitornado window with the horizontal progress bar opens and stays open until the download is complete. Now--apart from new graphics--when I click "download this torrent" the filecollector window of a different design appears but nothing else happens. I have tried "open" alternatives but no Bitornado appears. The Bitornado program is still on the Programs list.

Shoot, gave you the gutsy instructions...
Works fine in 8.04, didn't locate a hardy install link.

You could always build it.

I am sorry guys, but I am not up to this. I dont find Linux/Ubuntu whatever very user-friendly.When posing a question I get anwers allright but these fly by way over my head. I got by allright with MS XP and hoped after all the hype that Linux would be a better choice. It is evident that I am no computer geek, I want simple inherent procedures and I do not have the knowledge to "build" something that I should be able to reach with a click. After changeing to Linux I have no connection to printer, Evolutions does not work and now this upgrading for the worst and not being able to download films. Gentlemen, this sucks and I am going to chuck it.

sudo apt-get install ktorrent

(I am using it and its by far the best torrent client I have used)
