firefox does not start upon clicking on a link

If there is an URL link in a message that I open in Evolution I want to open firefox on that particular address upon clicking on the link. Unfortunately firefox does not start. I am using Hardy Heron.

Please go to System/Preferences/Preferred Applications. Verify if Firefox is setup as your preferred web browser and that "Open link with web browser default" is checked.
