Wireless Connection Workaround Needed

Asked by Steve Garton

The latest updates in Edgy break network-manager on my laptop :(
Both knetworkmanager and nm-applet (for KDE and Gnome respectively) fail to connect to any wireless network, where they both worked fine. I have added my comment to bug 72662, and there appears to be a fix 'in the works'. I am, however, unwilling to download & compile from CVS in the meantime, as suggested in the bug.

Can someone walk me through how I can temporarily set my laptop up so I can connect to my wireless network at home. The network uses WPA, if that helps.

Thanks in advance

Steve

What sort of wireless network card do you have?

Chris,

It's an Intel Integrated 3945.

I'll mark this as solved, as I went ahead and installed 0.7 from CVS (even though I know it will cause headaches in future!)

Thanks for getting back to me though.
