Can't see and connect to wlan

Asked by NewUbuntuUser

Hello,

I'm trying to set the connection to internet through my wireless router. I have installed Ubuntu 8.04., the latest version currently avaliable, on HP Compaq 6720s with bcm4312 (I think, don't know for sure) wireless module inside.

After great and quick installation of Ubuntu, everything is works like a charm, except it can't find my wlan connection. I tried "playing" with the option for manually settings network option, but no luck as I'm not very good at this, and don't understand a lot of those terms.

As I'm new to Linux in general, please can someone help me solve this issue, as with internet connection this system would be great...and 10x better the windows. Any help in plain english for newby me would be very appreciated.

Tnx in advance.
Darko
