How to prevent the window from disappearing when scrolling on desktop

In 14.04 Trusty, with an open browser window if I scroll up or down on the desktop, the window disappears.

If I have a browser window open (Firefox) and I scroll up or down on the desktop but not on the window, the window disappears.
