during upgrading from ubuntu 710 to ubuntu 804 the install froze at the firestarter upgrade. had to turn the computer off as nothing would respond. now 804 seems to be installed however when trying to se the update manager i get 2 error messages. E:dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run "dpkg--configure -a" to correct the problem. E:_cache->open()failed,please report. how to correct or should i do a clean install ? please keep it simple, thanks.

It's not sudo dpkg--configure -a, it's sudo dpkg(space)--configure -a.
