Hardy Heron alternate install doesn't fit on a CD

Asked by emstrom

I have an old system with low memory I want to install Heron on. I downloaded the alternate installer torrent, which comes to 720mb. I've never seen a writeable CD that holds more than 700mb - how do I install with the alternate installer if it won't fit on a CD? I know there's the free CDs I could order, but it states that it could take up to 10 weeks, and I'd rather not wait until the middle of July...

Thanks.

Thanks for your question.

Ubuntu Hardy Heron Alternate (for i386 I assume?) should come as a 697M iso file. So you might have a corrupt download.

Here's how to verify if you got the wrong file: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

Can you help with this problem?
