Should I use the 64 bit version with a Vaio Duo Core Laptop?

Asked by Riverrun

Have installed the 32 bit version of Hardy and I'm wondering, since I have a Duo Core laptop should I istall the 64 bit version? No complaints about Hardy 32 bit, it works well but maybe the 64 bit version would be a better fit for my system.

You don't have to use the 64 bit version. In most cases it's easiest and sufficient to use 32 bit.
64 bit only has real advantages in some situations. Especially if you have more then 3 GB RAM, 64 bit will allow you to use all the memory.
On the other hand, there is still some software not available for 64 bit.

Thanks Albert, that's clarified things for me. I'll be sticking with 32 bit.
