How do I get internet access on ubuntu?

I have it on XP when I switch over but when I switch back over to Ubuntu it cant find the internet. I have wireless internet throughout my entire house and my computer is hooked up to a router. I just need to know how to set up the Internet on Ubuntu, right now I think I have feitsy fawn.... it is really basic.
