Keyboard layout problem for Turkish in Ubuntu 8.04

I have just turned to Ubuntu 8.04 today. I have switched to Turkish keyboard layout from keyboard preferences. The first time I did it it worked but now/ it doesn't. It is still set to Turkish Q but I cannot use my keyboard in this layout.

My problem is almost the same with 'https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/28793'

In this post following link is suggested, but I didn't understand what to do. And it was post 2 years ago. So I hope a newer solution might exist.

And after start-up, a corruption sign appears on the upper panel. But when I try to click on it, it disappears. I thougt that it might have a connection with the keyboard.

I only can solve the problem when I type "setxkbmap -layout tr" to console each time I start the computer. Can any one know a solution to fix this?

memetali birader.Aynı sorunu bende yaşıyorum.Söylediğin komutu sistem/tercihler/oturumlar menusunden startup programs sekmesine ekledim. En azından sistemi her başlattığımda komutu el yordamıyla yazmak zorunda kalmıyorum.Komut için teşekkürler.

Ben de sana çok teşekkür ederim. Sorun kısmen çözülmüş oldu. Sanıyorum bu platformda kişilerin e-postaları paylaşılmıyor. Kişinin kendininkini vermesi de doğru mu değil mi bilmiyorum. Nasıl irtibat kurabiliriz. Mümkünse başka sorunları da paylaşmak isterim. Her zaman Türkçe konuşanlar bulunmuyor.
