Installation issues

I have Windows XP pro and downloaded the ISO image for 8.04 Desktop edition this morning. When I boot the computer and try to install from the CD it freezes on the main menu when i choose any of the options on the screen and nothing happens. I consider myself a decently computer savvy (or i should say Windows savvy) person but i cannot get this to install or load. when i try using the tool on the disk to help me manually boot from cd i get an error that a certain file cannot be found.

Any Ideas???

what's the name of the file which is missing?

i didn't write it down but downloaded again from another mirror site and burned again and the second time around it worked perfectly. maybe the original site was missing a file. thanks for your help though
