Hardy Heron 8.04 Release

Asked by Peter

Hi there,
This is my first post and i have a question regarding the release of the official final version of Hardy Heron.
I thought it was going to be released on the 24th (its currently 8pm in Australia) and ive been waiting all day for the download to be available on the internet to no avail. I am very excited about this release and i am extremely curious as to what time (relevant to whichever timezone) Hardy Heron downloads will be made available on the Ubuntu website.

Cheers from Australia,

Peter

Q: When exactly will the release be out? What time?
A: The steps taken in preparing a release are complex, and depend on the work of multiple people and teams, and the state of network connections; it's not possible to state a specific time of day for the release beforehand.

Q: Is there a chance that the release will be delayed?
A: Even though no delay has been announced up to this point, it's entirely possible that some last minute issues can crop up and delay the release. In the case that a significant delay occurs that necessitates pushing the release date ahead, that will be announced in the ubuntu-devel-announce mailing list. If you aren't subscribed to the list, you can view the latest posts in the list archive page for the current month with your web browser.
