reboot cycle when trying to install 64 bit v7.10

Asked by MrTickle

When i boot from the cd and select install all I get is a line of text saying kernel alive then another line of text about the kernel then my pc reboots. There are no error messages. It also does this when i select check disk! Once the pc reboots it starts from the cd again and again...

Is it just a bad download, Or the wrong version for my system. I downloaded the 64 bit version which says for AMD or Intel.

My system specs:- Intel dual core E2200, 4gig ram, gigabyte p35c-ds3r motherboard.

Thanks
Mike

Hi MrTicle,

Just a suggestion.. did you try running the memory teste (avaliable from the live CD) for some time, to be more confident that there's no problem with the hardware?

Can you help with this problem?
