Maybe you could wait or upgrade to 8.04

I own an Inspiron 1501 and it's currently running 7.10 (has an XP partition I have booted twice- need to delete that). Love it, everything is working great. It's a beast to lug around, but hey...
The Vostros are very nice- don't rule them out, the smaller footprint and reduced weight are good benefits, but not sure if they offer 'buntu out of the box on them. They need more config work than the 1501, too, at least with 7.10... Haven't tried one with Hardy yet.

Can you help with this problem?
