Driver problem with nvidia 8700 GT

Hello,
I have an XPS 1730 with 2x8700GT SLI inside.
I have several problems with the installation. I have to say that before to post in this area, I tried many ways of installations :
  - With the proprietary driver manager
  - with envy
  - with the .run package (169.07 & 171.*)

With any way, I have a black screen (black means switched off) just after the splash screen of ubuntu.
After, I can't do anything and have to restore my xorg.conf with vesa driver...

Thanks to help me and excuse me if my English is'nt good.

No there is no messages, no error...

What abut the free driver, the nv.

I know that the 3d accelaration is almost useless but its better than the vesa one.

Can you help with this problem?
