Software & Updates crashing

Asked by Ruben

Hey you all,

On 16.04, the Software & Updates is always crashing after a "reload".

I thought it had something to do with the theme I applied, but I reinstalled it and right after the installment, without any change to 16.04, the Software & Updates still crashes.

Any idea?

Thank you so very much for your help.

Cheers!

If you run:

sudo apt-get update

What is the output, please?

Thanks

OK, if you run:

sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Does the system update OK?

Yes. Through terminal I never had a problem.

I can add repositories, update, upgrade and dist-upgrade.

It is the graphical Software & Updates that crashes after an "reload".

Without any warning or any bug report, or anything else whatsoever.

And, btw, it appears I cannot also visually check the Canonical Partners box. Thats is, I check it but the box does not become checked although the reload button is prompt to be clicked.

"reload button" - I meant revert button...

You could always install Synaptic and use that. I only use the command line to upgrade etc so am not much use have but can find guides online.....

Can you help with this problem?
