Ubuntu Software has stopped working in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

I am once again experiencing a problem with this 'leading OS for PC' while trying to do a basic task.

Ubuntu Software no longer works. I can't search for software, I can't browser software and I can't install updates.

How can I go about fixing this?

especially steps 1 - 7 and 10

In step 7 do not create a new question document, but paste all output into this document that you have already created.
