Screen flickers after updating to 16.04 LTS

Asked by Bazinac

I am running dual monitor setup (in mirror mode) on ubuntu. Right after upgrade to 16.04, I am experiencing issues with flickering (image on/off) on second screen (which is LGD LED TV) - even if this screen is connencted as single one. Flickering (screen turning on and of) happens specially when running full hd video in browser, or and that is reproducible every single time - when I launch Dash in unity. I am running Intel HD 2500 and screen is connected via DVI, but it happens also if I connect it via HDMI. Reducing resolution helps, but that is obviously no solution. I also have tried to upgrade to newer kernel from intel branch (4.7.xxx), but it does not help. Any recommendations please? Anyway, thanks for developing Ubuntu and making it available freely to public.

Only the solution that works for me is to revert back to an old kernel 3.16.0-25. All the newer are kinda fucked up for me. :)

That's fine. If you apt-pin the kernel and tell GRUB to always boot that kernel then you will be fine.

Can you help with this problem?
