I canceled the update process..

Asked by SocksyFox

Hi fellow Ubuntu users! I recently did a clean install of Ubuntu and during the process of updating i accidentally closed out. I just wanna make sure nothing is corrupted if you do that. I continued the process after and it seems to keep updating, but I don't know... Thanks!

Try:

cd $HOME
wget https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8850924/fixpackage
chmod +x ./fixpackage
sudo ./fixpackage

hope that helps.

The update process is designed to be error-tolerant. In almost all cases an interruption should not do any harm, because the next time the update process is started, it will try recovering incompletely installed packages and complete the update process.

If you re-run updates (or actionparsnip's script) and get success messages, you can trust that everything is in a healthy state.

Can you help with this problem?
