Can you make certain that all the audio tracks/channels are at the max volume. It is a know fact that on some sound cards you have to adjust the volume in PCM-2 and not PCM-1.

Open a terminal window and type "alsamixer" and press enter. Make sure that all the tracks are at the highest volume and that none are muted. You can use the 'M' key to toggle the mute status. Let me know how that works out for you
