How to Shrink an .iso file on Kubuntu

Asked by Lisandro

I make an .iso file ready to burn with DeVeDe ..but the .iso is to large ( 5Gb) and i can not write him with K3b. I would like to Know if there is some kind of program to shrink the size of the .iso ( in Kubuntu of course) so i can burn it with K3B.
Thank.

if the contents of the iso can be zipped, example one of the directory contains lots of text files, zipped them up and then make the iso again, it will reduce the size. Also are you saying 5GB is a limitation of K3B or you DVD-Writer?, meaning, can your DVD-Writer handle DVD-DL capable of 8.5GB?

OK , first thank You hardcorelinux for awnser my question (great tip ), but what I want to Know is if there are any program like dvd shrink for Kubuntu. The file .iso i am talking about was made with DeVeDe it contains two movies , normaly 4.7 Gb is enough but this time the .iso become (after enconding) a litlle bit longer than usually . So what I want to Know is if are some Kind of Program to shrink that particular .iso made with DeVeDe. Well of course i have another solutions , i can do the enconding again with just one movie or buy a disc with more capacity (and Burn it with K3b)my DVD handle with Dual Layer.... but if there is a program i would like to Know. Thank you very much , sorry for my English.
