gateway ne56r41u laptop wifi atheros AR9485 ath9k

Suspect these things get old and sink to the bottom of the barrel, so, hopefully this second summary version of the two previously opened questions will make it easier for y'all to reply, since thanks to actionparsnip there has been some improvement, however the wifi still does not work.
The wifi connects and all, but its like the internet cant get thru from the card to the pc to the ubuntu to the firefox.
Action Parsnip has done a lot to help, and got it back from the messed up state i'd put it in, which was from not working to not working worse.
No, it's still not fixed after all that help, but it has improved to its original state, which was, NOT WORKING.

anyway, it still doesn't work.

once again, all this assistance is greatly appreciated. hope the new update makes it easier to reply again, as, please any more help available? is NEEDED!
