Did you setup a dual boot? Is there only one drive in the system?

I just clicked install ubuntu parallel with windows from the live usb installation. I assume it should set up the dual boot. No i have multiple drives in the system if i check my partitions in windows. I think the installation created three more seprate partitions on my ssd.

If you boot to the Ubuntu install media and use gparted to view the partitions, do you see Linux partitions?

I assume you didn't run a setup file in Windows from the CD/USB stick. That is Wubi and is long dead...
