wish to create a photo album for the net

More info....using NVU.............Gimp...........and not used Gimp yet.

I am sure there's a few apps out there to do it, but the one that I stumbled across like this:-

alan@wopr:~$ apt-cache search gallery | grep html
jigl - Generates a static html photo gallery from one or more directories of images

Which was the only one listed given my search criteria. It is a command-line driven program that does pretty much what the description says. I just tested it with the following command (given that's where some photos are located) and off it went:-

alan@wopr:~/jigl$ jigl /media/disk/Pics/Sophie
No '/home/alan/.jigl/jigl.opts' resource file found.
Checking the command line options.
------------------------------
Processing directory '/media/disk/Pics/Sophie'

No 'gallery.dat' resource file found.
Checking the final options for validity
No gallery.dat file found. Checking for files in directory.
471 of 471 image files found in the directory were valid.
Generating EXIF info
Generating thumbnails
The thumbnail directory: 'thumbs' did not exist. Creating.
(182/471) Scaling thumbs/thumb_dsc00413.jpg

I didn't wait until it finished, you get the idea.
