Did you try logging off and on?
Is it present in the Dash?

Then this is simple. Add the command to the startup items. There is an icon for it in the Dash if you search for it. Once you have added it, log off and on and the icon will be present.

If this works then I suggest you report a bug to state it doesn't add an item to Dash and that it should be set to automatically run at login.

It seems that there is no .desktop file provided in the package.
You might create a bug report request, that one is delivered with the package.
As a workaround you could create one yourself.
