Why “Suspend” is not getting Operative?

Asked by Navin Talati

I recently installed an UBUNTU 16.04 Desktop amd-64 in my computer. It is installed fresh on a seperate 250GB hdd. On the screen at the top extreme right there is a drop-down option like Log Out.., Suspend, Shutdown ect.
Here, when I opt and apply “Suspend”, the machine gets off/suspended and again restarts autometically. It shold actually get suspended till I manually restarts. So “Suspend” seems non-operative.
What could be the cause and how do I make it working?
Please guide me.
