VMware for Ubuntu 14.04
Hello,
I am doing some studying for IT and part of the materials needed is to have VMware.
I want to the site and downloaded the only package there which was for linux and got this
download:
/Downloads/
I have right clicked, double clicked and tried opening with everything I can find and cannot figure a
way to install this.
Is this available for Ubuntu 14.04?
Do you know of a way to install it? Or is it even possible?
Thank you.

Do you read the error messages that you get?
"cannot access ‘/home/
Either you have mistyped the name of the package file, or you have downloaded it to a different directory.
If I combine the information in your original question and the information on the help.ubuntu.com page, then I see that you did not realize that you have to adapt the commands.
At the time when the help.ubuntu.com page was written, version 6.0.2 or VMware was the current version, but now you have downloaded version 12.1.1. You have to use the current version in the commands!
Try
sudo bash Downloads/

Ok, thank you,
The command worked and I have the program installed but there were still some problems towards the bottom of the output;.
I am posting the results here. Can you tell me if it is something that can be fixed or needs to be fixed?

Those messages
(vmware-
are just warnings that will not prevent VMware from running.
The command
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-
might help
Eventually you might also need the 32bit versions
sudo apt-get install libcanberra-
But VMware should also work without these additional package installations.
