computer cant find sever no web to go to

Asked by Bob

everything was good but today I power up and there is no web to be found.
my other computer is fine. so far but it's always been a day behind on updates so it may happen on that one tomorrow.
all wires are fine it's a dell tower with a wire plugged into the modem. I changed them and it not that there fine.

I really can think of what other info to put I'm just a little to piss off to think right now. I've tried to look it up to see if I can find some info but most of it's to old or tell you to download something?? how do you download something when there is no web. Ahh.
it's always something every week, what ever happen to to good old days when Linux was great. just venting now. ahhh.
hope someone can help.

then ran in Terminal
sudo get-apt update

then started software Updater, did the update
It said to restart and everything was back to normal.
