What video chip are you using?
If you reboot to an older kernel is the system OK?

I had to hit F4 and go down to advanced and down to 4.x.x.36 and the screen came back to normal size and Radiance screen colours work again and got a message of Ubuntu 16.04 had internal error . .
That black on black makes seeing much of what the things are has got to be one of the Bleeping ERRORS made by a microsoft person I would guess . . Seen several things made by them during install . . .

Now even the 4.x.x.36 will not come back to having the screen settings right ! What is going on ? . . Do I have to total back up of files and re install 16.04 . . This is weird . . Almost a haha windows ME type of things going weird . .
