Asked by drrwhistle3

I have install Ubuntu in a partition of my drive. Trying to abandon M$ windows. My D-link WDA-1320 is not being recognised. Please be VERY specific as I am new to having control of my PC. For example, if I need to open a program and type something (code) what program do I do it in? I am compitent if you explain how. I haven't had choices since Windows 3.1. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for getting back to me. However, last night I figured out myself. I used a book but I did it. 1 step closer to getting rid of windows xp. I am sure I will have many more questions so be prepared. Thanks again.

I have a D-link DIR-655 wireless N router that I cannot set-up through Fedora 10, Ubuntu 8.04 or MEPIS 7. Try as I might all of them cannot use the install CD (expected) as it is Windows-based and D-link has no install software for Linux (also expected). However using the 'konsole' and typing in 'ifconfig' also left me guessing what to do next. I am very computer literate in the bloated Vista 64 but I though it would be nice to say goodbye to Bill G. after my retirement from IBM. All I have read over the last 2 years suggested that this was the time and the three mentioned Linux OS above contained the means to do it. Is it a case of too much promotion of the capabilities of these OS or am I just not getting the picture?
Sincerely,
Jeff C Bradshaw
