Acer Aspire Cloudbook - Lubuntu drains battery when Powered Off!

Asked by Aggy

I'm using the latest Lubuntu 16.04 LTS on an Acer Aspire Cloudbook, but it seems that something is draining the battery when the machine is powered off (shutdown). Within a week, the battery emties from 100% -> 20% while powered off and not connected to the power supply.

I found a similar already submitted bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1479322

Please tell me what informations (logs, etc.) you need, because it's my very first bug report.

@ actionparsnip:

* On the Acer Homepage they only provide BIOS / Firmware Updates as *.exe files with Windows 10 Home. Any chance I can install them with Linux? Or Live-Boot?

* How do I check what version of earch firmware / BIOS I have currently installed?

I finally updated the BIOS and Firmware of the machine to all the latest from the official Acer website, but this doesn't solve the problem! The battery is still draining ~10 % per day (while turned off!).

* How can I troubleshoot this?
* Anyone can help?
