Image or backup ?

PC Spec:-
ATX case with 500Watt PSU
Gigabyte Socket 1150 Micro ATX Motherboard - GA-H81M-S2H
Intel Pentium G3220 3.0GHz - BX80646G3220
8GB DDR3 1600MHz DIMM - PC3-12800
128GB SATA-III Solid State Drive - Kingston V300
500GB HDD Seagate Barracuda SATA3 - ST500DM002
Internal SATA Multi-format DVD Writer – SH2-244DB
Multi Card Reader – CR005V4
Windows 7 Professional – 64 Bits

Dual boot Windows 7 Professional – 64 Bits and Ubuntu 15.10 64 Bits

I would like to have a backup or image of SSD (were Windows & Ubuntu OS are)
/dev/sda1 ntfs 104mb 25mb
/dev/sda2 ntfs 53329mb 40913mb
/dev/sda3 ext4 / 58400mb unknown
/dev/sda4 ext4 /swap 8197mb unknown

Plus 500GB HDD Seagate Barracuda SATA3 which has Home folder for Ubuntu & partition for Windows.

What advice would you give please?

You could make a 120Gb image on your larger drive then archive it off somewhere (assuming you have enough space to do so).

You can then restore the entire system by putting the image back on the SSD in case of issue. You would also be able to mount the image and pull individual files out if necessary

Have 120Gb SSD windows Pro7, Ubuntu 15.10 Plus 500Gb HD for Data eg /home for linux.

Have 1Tb portable HD
How and what programme to take images of all this?
