ubuntu 7.10 live cd asking username & password

i ran live cd of ubuntu 7.10 after booting its asking for username & password in graphical login screen.i m new to linux.i tried from friend's cd same repeats.

Try using this for the user name: ubuntu
And a blank password.

If it doesn't help then your cd or download may be defective. Try to slow down the burn speed (4x).

it didn't work .i tried usn-ubuntu,psw-ubuntu,psw-[blank]
cd is not downloaded, its requested cd.i tried from friend's cd.same problem occurs.

Have you tried to boot form your cd on another computer?

Try to use another cd/dvd drive.

using diffrent cd drive worked but too slow my ram is 128MB will it work?
