Still having a driver problem, thought i would try again...

I have a cd to install the drivers on my motherboard like the sound, but i can;t get it to run on my ubuntu computer. Anyone know what i could do?

Chances are those drivers are for windows - meaning they won't work. There may be Linux drivers there or on the website. It's worth checking. However, most often there are drives in the kernel that work for most things. You might have some unsupported hardware so that complicates things a bit. Can you let us know what you need to install drivers for? Include specifics like model, brand etc.

An aim? I'm not sure what you mean. But if we know the hardware in question we can help you figure out your options.

Well at the current time i can tell you that i have an A7N8X-VM motherboard (NVIDAA nFORCE2). Does this help at all?

I also have a cd for it, and Ubuntu recognizes it, but i can get it to run if you get my drift.

O by the way, by AIM i meant American Online Instant Messenger (AIM).

I solved the problem, i got an old sound card that i found, stuck it in the machine, put the sound devices on auto-detect and boom, now I am watchin youtube with sound and listening to my cds´.
