i want to unstall ubuntu on my asus s2n. what kind of OS am i should choose, help me please

my notebook asus s200n is too old. they hardware is presented by intel centrino 1GHz, 512 RAM, 60Gb HDD. i want to become a linux user but i can't install ubuntu 12.10 and 14.04.

Lubuntu 16.04 uses very few resources and will run well.
RAM is super cheap. You will notice a real difference with additional RAM
