Have wired internet, wireless will not connect-16-10-lts

have full internet hook up with ethernet cable, have all the choices for wireless and even have set my site with full info and password but when I click on it the site trys to load but just continues to loop and will not connect? even through network manager it does the same.
it worked fine on 14.04 and just upgraded to 16.10 and now won't work

16.10 is not LTS. 16.04 is LTS and supported til April 2021.

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a

Copy the command and paste it into the terminal. Don't try to retype it as you may botch it (like you just did)
