Gaphor vs Ubuntu 6.06.01

Asked by Kudryashov

It just can't work!
It prints error message:
** (gaphor:10475): WARNING **: couldn't make the type `CanvasGroup' ready
/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/diacanvas/__init__.py:13: RuntimeWarning: tp_compare didn't return -1 or -2 for exception
  from _canvas import *
TypeError: Cannot create a consistent method resolution
order (MRO) for bases GObject, CanvasGroupableIface, CanvasGroupable
/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/diacanvas/__init__.py:19: DeprecationWarning: Module gnome.canvas is deprecated; please import gnomecanvas instead from view import *

Can anyone fix it?

There are no solution for problem, only confirmation. I can't install gaphor-0.8.1, it is going to delete half of my system. It depends on a lot of packets that new version conflicts with 6.06.

May be it is posible to backport it?

You may want to try installing the Debian version...

http://packages.debian.org/testing/devel/gaphor

I don't know if this is an Ubuntu specific issue but if you're willing to try the Debian package please post your results here.

Can you help with this problem?
