Sleep with ubuntu 16.04 with kernel 4.4

Asked by claudio

Hi,

I upgraded my samsung series 7 ultra from ubuntu 15.10 to 16.04.
After this I was not able to suspend the computer. The screen became black but the fan continued to work.
I tried to restore the previous kernel: from 4.4 to 4.2 and the sleep function works properly

Thanks

I think it is the same problem reported by others with the betas of 16.04 in askubuntu or ubuntu forum, always dismissed with "it's a beta, try again with release".

I have the same with my new dell inspiron 5000, and it seems rlated with the kernel version. So I am confident this will be fixed soon (or at least it will be a widely documented issue)
