How to install perl in Ubuntu 7.10

Hi All

Can anyone help me with installing perl in Ubuntu 7.10 , as i have downloaded the latest version but unbale to install it.

Hello !

The usual way to install additional application in Ubuntu is to use Synaptic (should be in System > Administration). If you really need the latest version of Perl and it's not available in Synaptic, please post back and we'll help you doing it the 'hard way'.

Well perl is in the ubuntu repos..

type

sudo apt-get install perl

to install perl

If you are Looking for a perl IDE then

The scite editor can handle perl, To install scite type:

sudo apt-get install scite

eclipse has a perl-plugin:

http://www.easyeclipse.org/site/distributions/lamp.html
