No xmms in Hardy
I get this error when I try to listen to a music stream using "Streamtuner "
Failed to execute child process "xmms" (no such file or directory).
I am new Linux. Is there a easy package installer for xmms ?

beamkw,
Haven't used stramtuner before, but i know you can play streams from Totem and Rhythmbox, and Audacious. Exaile is another music player that is worth trying as well.
heres some links:

On to your actual question:
you could enter this into the command line:
sudo apt-get install xmms2-plugin-ices
which is the xmms plugin for streaming oggs. However xmms has been replaced with Audacious which can be installed via:
sudo apt-get install audacious
and the plugins:
sudo apt-get install audacious-plugins
sudo apt-get install audacious-
This is probably your best bet. Double check and read the Audacious FAQ linked above.
For future reference when looking for packages
1) most packages can be found in the Applications Menu -> add/remove programs
2) if not you can run the aptitude package manager from command line
3) ...or if searching for a certain package i.e. xmms you can run:
apt-cache search xmms
that will give you an unabridged list of all packages with the term "xmms" in them that ubuntu offers, with a short description.
Try each, and you will learn lots. Welcome to Ubuntu.

some more FYI
there are a lot of Ubuntu users on IRC that can answer your questions in real time
IRC server: irc.freenode.net
channel name: #ubuntu
you can use either xchat, or pidgin to connect to the IRC server.

Thanks appreciate the help. I installed Audacious as you suggested. I can't seem to open any internet radio streams. The application quits or hangs. It plays mp3 files OK. I guess I just need to keep using audacious and gain more experience. I will say problem solved unless you have more to teach me.
Thanks
