Cannot write to /sys/ even as root!

Asked by Michael James

I'm trying to get hdapsd to work on hardy beta and it refuses to write to /sys/block/sda/queue/. I've even tried making a file under the recovery terminal and it failed to open it. I did not get an error when making the file but I guess it got deleted after I hit enter.

It worked fine on Gutsy.

Thanks for the question.

I believe hdapsd is not stable on debian and ubuntu systems yet see http://thinkwiki.org/wiki/HDAPS. In addition hardy is still a beta and the kernel is changing still a bit. So maybe it will be better in the final release.

I hope this helps.
