Run terminal and enter:
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
sudo ln /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/opera/plugins/

Unfortunately currently available version of the flash player won't work with non-Gecko based browsers like Opera version prior to 9.50 since Adobe's uses xembed which is actually compatible only with Firefox on Linux. You should try to search an older version of Flash Player 9 plugin for Linux or install an alhpa version of the upcoming Opera 9.50 from http://snapshot.opera.com/unix/.

Ok, tested this solution, it works for me:

1)Uninstall your current version of opera and delete ~/.opera folder;

2)Install Opera 9.50Beta2 from here (amd64 version available too):

http://snapshot.opera.com/unix/snapshot-1772/x86_64-linux/

3)Then download libflashplayer "latest-1" version from here:

http://miglietta.francesco.googlepages.com/libflashplayer.so

4)In a terminal run:

sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/opera/plugins

5)Launch Opera and test Youtube, if it still doesn:
5b) In Opera go to Tools->Preferences->Advanced->Contents and press the "Plugin Options..." button, click the "change path" button in the dialog you will be presented with and uncheck all the paths leaving only /usr/lib/opera/plugins, apply the changes, and restart Opera.

Hope this helps ;)
