I just instaled Ubuntu 7.10 gutsy gibbion what do I need to do now? Is there updates to get?

 I was wondering if I need to install any updates and also was wondering how to activate my wireless card in Ubuntu 7.10 gutsy gibbon I have tried a couple thins but maybe my wireless card is just not compatible i have a broadcom 802.11 which is a basic one that comes with any laptop. Also I was wondering if anybody knows how to install applications like wifi radar please give me the best explanation as possible.
