Enemy Territory and screen resolution and maybe a bash script for a Noob

Asked by sum1nil

Is there a command line command to alter the screen resolution?
When I quit Enemy Territory, my screen is stretched, so I though I could write a bash script to:
1. launch ET
2. Wait for it to be exited
3. restore screen resolution to it's normal state (or worst case just automatically reset the x-server)

I don't have really any experience with bash scripting. So far I've just been resetting the x-server(ctrl-alt-backspace) but I thought maybe there was an easier way from the X-server commands or bin commands to reset to my original screen.
Or is this just something I do to the ET software?
ET seems to be running fine except for an occasional loss of lighting.
lol I know I should be practicing python instead, but hey everyone needs a break or two, huh?

You can use the xrandr command to set the screen resolution from command line. See `man xrandr` for documentation.

Can you help with this problem?
