I installed 16.04 but the system identifies as 14.04 What's up?

SO - I had all sorts of trouble updating (via the upgrade process) so I burned a CD of 16.04 and installed that. Now, after I restored my data via a restore (Backup utility) the system identifies as 14.04... I don't understand...

OK - my mistake - it seems that my CD Rom is 14.04.... Errrr....
