some of the games i downloaded won't load

some of the games won't load and some of them don't have a shortcut in the games section. some of them are "flightgear,attal,battlestar,bzflag,stratagus.

That's unfortunate.

For many programs however you can manually add them to the menu using the menu editor. You can also start the application manually using ALT+F2, then type the name of the program in.

I would recommend you file a bug against the package in question, for example:-

bzflag
https://bugs.launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/bzflag/+bugs

stratagus has a bug already
https://bugs.launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/stratagus/+bug/60299

etc
