yes, when you reinstall ubuntu just be sure to aim it at the partition where it resided when you originally installed it. If you use the live CD and run the command sudo fdisk -l you can get your partition information. Write it down so you are doubly sure of which partition your XP install is on. you can tell because it will be of the type HPFS/NTFS
