How do I auto start a firewall for myself and other users of this computer

Asked by ShawJ

How do I auto start a firewall for myself and other users of this computer? (I have read the FAQ's on Firestarter, but info did not provide a solution.) [Note: None of the responses to my Summary inquiry had anything to do with a firewall.]

Nohow -- firewall starts automatically by default.

Note: Firestarter is not firewall -- it's only configuration thing -- you set some rules and they are applied. Firewall is called iptables and it's part of kernel.

Thank you for quick and succinct response. So iptables is always on and will protect the computer. Is it auto updated if required? Thanks again, ShawJ

"Is it auto updated if required?"

Yes, normally via Update Manager.
