Asked by Nick

I do not know how to download the Ubuntu source by another other means than file-by-file. How do I download it all at once.

What do you mean by source? Do mean all the files that make up the OS or all the files on live CD or are you thinking of something else? There may be a way to download ALL of the source code for the OS, but I'm not aware of where or how. I do believe they are supposed to make this available so it should be somewhere. However, another approach would be just extracting everything from the live CD. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization for info on doing that.

Hi

Agree with Jim -

Ubuntu is a O/S and not a program - it is made up of lots of different programs, made to work together by the development team in a wonderful great way.

You can also use apt to retrieve the source of any program on Ubuntu by using apt.

type

sudo apt-get source <package> where <package> is the name of
the source package that you would like to download and unpack."

This however is not a easy way to get "all" packages. I think you can get the source for the ubuntu cd here

Isn't the source code included in the CD?

Can you help with this problem?
