Asked by Bob

had it working when I was running 36bit. now I did a complete install of 14.4 64bit loving the speed of 64bit. But I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. it's been years since I set it up. I watching all the videos and read all the pages on how to. got me nowhere in two days. there both running ubuntu and I downloaded it from the software center. can anyone help I know it's going to be something simple after all it's a simple program not many options for it.

It's exactly the same as how you do it in Windows....

Open a terminal and type:

ping hostname

Release "hostname" with the other system's name (or IP if you like)

Use CTRL + C to stop the pings
